Mom Jeans
Patterns and sewing techniques
Mom jeans. Patterns and sewing techniques.
Video course is presented to you by a new author – Vitaliy Shkrigunov! If you’ve been wanting to learn how to sew jeans, it’s high time to start!
We’ve prepared for you 30 lessons on creating stylish and comfortable mom jeans.

The term “Mom jeans” has appeared in the last century.
It all started in the mid-1930s in the USA. At the time, Vogue magazine published a revolutionary collection of denim jeans Lady Levi’s in an article about vacation at a ranch. It was more than brave; even simple pants were deemed socially unacceptable for women at the time. Denim was even considered a fabric for sewing workman’s clothes for men. And only in 1981, when a new 501 model jeans for ladies was introduced to public, the soft high rise jeans became extremely popular. That’s how the history of “mom jeans” started. The term “mom jeans” appeared in conversational speech among American youth even later, in the mid-1990s. But mom jeans are still universally popular today! The secret of their success is in a very comfortable fit – high rise, loose fit in the hip area and slightly tapered from the knee down.
Features of the pattern:
  • High rise at the waistline
  • Yoke at the back
  • Piping of the seams
  • Loose fit along the hips
  • Slightly tapered from the knee down
  • Classic 5-pocket model
In addition to the video course, the set includes patterns of size 26, which you can print at a printing house. You will find a detailed instruction on printing the patterns in one of the first lessons.
Besides, the course contains a lesson on increasing the pattern to any size you need.
